Microgreens are young vegetable greens that are approximately 2.5–7.5 cm tall. They have an aromatic flavour and concentrated nutrient content and come in a variety of colors and textures.
Microgreens are considered baby plants, falling somewhere between a sprout and baby green.
That said, they shouldn’t be confused with sprouts, which do not have leaves. Sprouts also have a much shorter growing cycle of 2–7 days, whereas microgreens are usually harvested 7–21 days after germination
While their nutrient contents vary slightly, most varieties tend to be rich in potassium, iron, zinc, magnesium and copper. What’s more, their nutrient content is concentrated, which means that they often contain higher vitamin, mineral and antioxidant levels than the same quantity of mature greens. In fact, research comparing microgreens to more mature greens reports that nutrient levels in microgreens can be up to forty times higher than those found in mature greens.
All our Microgreens at Power Greens are grown in a economical friendly method, so no pesticides are used on our Microgreens.
It takes 1 – 5 working days to process your order once payment has been received.
Once your order has finished processing, it will be handed over to our nominated courier service. Once the order has been handed over to our courier service, it will be delivered to you within 2 – 5 days depending on your location. You will receive an email notification stating that your order has been shipped and we will provide you with a tracking number.
We charge a flat fee of R89 to deliver to your door to all major city and regional areas. (Please note this rate does not apply to Outlying areas, These areas will be charged accordingly) This rate applies to orders that have a volumetric weight or actual weight (which ever is greater) of less than 5kgs and the item can fit into a flyer. If your order exceeds the volumetric or actual weight of 5kgs or can not fit into a flyer bag, you will be charged based on our standard table rate weight charges. These rates apply to both the volumetric weight as well as the actual weight (which ever is greater).
The Grow Shop – We ship these items and orders anywhere in South Africa.
Microgreens – Currently we are only able to deliver to the Cape Town area and the surrounding districts. This includes Cape Town CBD, Helderberg, Stellenbosch, Cape Winelands District & Hermanus
